I bought a 21mm Super-Elmar to do the same job in my kit: challenge me to get closer and require me to imagine what the photo will look like with proportions exaggerated by the wide angle. My early photos were lifeless and dull because I was too far away, but over time I got more comfortable. This has also carried back to my 35mm use, where photos have more drama because I'm always getting close and portraits carry a sense of intimacy they didn't before. I considered a 28mm so I wasn't without frame lines, but figured I'd go for something that could become more of a signature look if I took to the FoV.
