My relationship with photography has been in a rut lately and making simple - but specific - assignments for myself sounds like just the ticket... where I get locked down is when I start thinking that my photography needs to serve some greater purpose, meet some higher standard, rather than remember that I simply love photography for itself.
I think creative motivation can be even more challenging when you’re used to getting paid to shoot. Not only are you less likely to then shoot in your free time, there’s the mental load of “I usually get paid for this!” Motivation can be a real challenge.
