I have noticed that my M11 camera is freezing more frequently after the latest firmware update. During my last two outdoor shoots, the camera froze when woken from prolonged standby mode. The only way to restore picture-taking was to remove the battery. Although the M11 is generally a great camera, I cannot rely on it for client work until Leica addresses this issue.

This is exactly why I hope they prioritize bug fixes for 2024. I've have incredible luck as of late, but I'll talk to people and it's really 50/50. They either have no issues or they're hit with a freeze in the field that requires a battery pull. I don't recall it being this prevalent in previous M cameras?

I had my first freeze with my M11 Monochrom the night before last. Frustrating, but I was able to recover quickly. Leica really does need to address this once and for all.

What's interesting is that there's also variations of this issue. For some it's quick fix. For others, the restart takes noticeably longer. Weird.

I like the post. As a professional photographer in 2024, it's thought to survive. After my long time in this business, I considered returning to the Leica system and using M for my private journaling. Who knows where would lead me in the future?
