I am often guilty of limiting myself but proud to say I just delivered my first photo essay for a publication this week and all I had to do was tell me self I could.

The way the background canvas accentuates her jacket and jewelry is beautiful .

Thank you, we got very lucky with sourcing a studio that had the perfect colour canvas for these portraits.

Great stuff as always. You can see how taking extra time to solve problems can really pay off. As you said, don’t let your ambitions become roadblocks.

Also, the image is beautiful. The tones of blue work so well with the gold jewelry, yellow accents, and the model’s skin tone.

See Gajan. You have a team to help you figure out your creative thoughts. I’m struggling with me, myself and I. Ha Ha. I appreciate your input and inspiration. Alan

I was gonna address this in the post but didn't because of length. Additional people dramatically shorten the turnaround time on ambitious projects. But there's still much that can be done alone. Thanks for reading ✌🏾

This was a very inspirational read. I love the idea of stepping outside of comfort. I’ve been shooting digital for many years and just started shooting film. I also just started dabbling in Polaroid transfers and want to explore printing on unusual media.

Your image of Mongolian princess is alluring, and my favorite part of the image are the colors💙 How do you think the movie film stock changed the final image?

Thanks Mitchell. What I've been enjoying about this stock is that the final scans give a lot of room for colour editing. It's quite a forgiving stock that can give you the room to inject your signature. There's also the added benefit that in some environments (not this one) where the scans feel like they're straight out of a film.

This spoke to me as I think the next step for me to unlock more in my work is the prep and planning for a creative shoot. To step outside of my comfort zone and do some creative problem solving to develop a new shoot that has some newness and uniqueness to it.

I wonder what the shoot looked like and any other shots you took and how you chose this one. There is so much for the eye and I'd love to wear that jacket!

Erode makes some incredible pieces. I'll be sharing the full body of work from this shoot later this year.

I can see allot of thought went into this photo. The blue hair braids are very cool. The jewelry is unique. The jacket over the head is interesting as it frames the princess. I bet she loves it.
