The next time I see someone on threads ask why shoot Leica I’ll share this link. Great post.

Thank you, I was hoping to capture those long-term values that define this experience for so many of us.

This really nails how tools shape us as much as we shape our work. The M11 isn't the point, commitment and intention is. The key idea resonates too on how the right tool doesn’t buy you entry, but it invites conversation when the work is there and for the moment. Loved this piece after checking out the video.

Gajan snapped on this one. Wow. This is very inspiring coming from someone who is early days in walking their journey as a creative and discovering that true authentic voice. I made the jump about one year ago to the M11-P - sold a bunch of gear to make that jump. It’s been a journey of a lifetime, i decided to backpack the world in 2025 and that camera came with me everywhere. I resonate with a lot of what you wrote above and am very excited to continue this journey with this tool, it really has become more than a camera.

Thank you, and that’s incredible to hear. Enjoy the journey, and keep moving forward ✌🏾

Inspired writing...pointed & biting. I've used the M11 for one year now (also adding an MP in the middle of the year). It has challenged & rewarded me in equal measures. Cheers, Gajan. Wishing you continued success in this new year.

The Photo with the Two young Boys, the one Boy holding "that" to his head; its not photo you take, its a moment for Conversation and Reasoning. If the Photo was staged, the Artist is wrong; if the Photo was capturing the Boys behavior without guidance, the Artist shoud articulate that, and is still wrong for the publication without context. It isn't a photo to sell ones self, it's either to show the disturbance, to bring awareness, or its Garbage. Put the Camera down, have a conversation with the Boy, about what He is doing, if you don't speak the language, use a translator; if the phot was staged, its not appropriate to guide the Boy in that way. im disgusted.

That photo was not staged. And a conversation was had after what I witnessed.

That said, it’s a slippery slope to start leaping at what a photographer should and shouldn’t photograph. Context matters, but just because you don’t have it, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Seek to understand before projecting.
