Thanks for your tribute to John Free. He was an amazing photography. Years ago I saw his body of works about the homeless people (or tramps as he called them) he photographed at the trains. That inspired me to start doing documentery photography. We will surely miss his wisdom!
I have a twelve hour flight on Wednesday to Tokyo and these books will be a great way to make good use of my time. Thanks, Gajan @alangreenbergphotography
It's amazing that you can roam these markets. Unfortunately, we don't have those here in San Diego. I'll see if there is someplace in LA that is similar to your experience. That might be an interesting workshop for you to do here in Southern California. Hope spring eternal. Alan
Start the research, there may be some great market experiences not too far away. And yes, I'm hoping to do a LA or San Diego meet up in the future. Thanks Alan!
I love your black and whites and Kolkata looks great. Also, thanks for sharing John Free, I love this photos and he has truly inspired me.
Thanks for sharing Kun 🙏🏾

That's amazing. His work and words had a way of inspiring people. Truly a force for good.
The humanity of John’s work is a lesson instagram has killed. Thankfully I see it in yours or I wouldn’t be following you. Great post Gajan!
He really was special. And thank you for the kind words.

Kolkata looks amazing, so many photo opportunities. And great pictures!
Absolutely! I'm hoping to head back again later this year.
Kolkata is an interesting place I’ve been there twice, endless photographic possibilities
Absolutely. Each time I go, I’m finding a new place to explore.
Thanks for reading, Ian.
Excited to see what's next Gajan, awesome framing of how to navigate small (and unfamiliar) spaces, very useful :D
Thank you brother, excited to have you part of the community.
The black and whites are dramatic. I see what you mean about low and high. Thank you for the comments on your thought process.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it Richard.
You made me miss Kolet market. Will go there to shoot
Haha, I'd be going every week if I could!
